Hi! I’m Becka.
I am a Social Worker (MSW, RSW) and a therapist working virtually and in Toronto, Ontario. Over the years, I have focused my studies on body-centred therapy techniques and trauma-informed clinical care. Additionally, I’m a certified advanced yoga/meditation teacher, and I’ve pursued numerous additional trainings alongside my social work degree, including trauma-informed cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems, dialectical behavioural therapy, and trauma processing work. I work mostly with clients looking to address food and body issues, mood and anxiety disorders, and trauma, but I am trained in a wide variety of therapies that can address a broad spectrum of concerns. I speak English, French, & Spanish.

My Approach to Therapy
I strive to deliver anti-oppressive, trauma-informed care. Whether you’re dealing with a traumatic past experience, body anxiety, difficult personal relationships, or a relentless inner critic, I aim to focus on your strengths and your inner compass to help guide our sessions. You are the expert of you, and my role is to help you connect with your own inner wisdom & resilience.
My style is gentle, with a focus on client-led exploration of the self and the concerns you’re hoping to address. You choose how we use your time in-session, and you choose how deep we go on any given day. My goal is to meet you where you are, and to help you advance on your own agenda. My primary practice modalities are Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor therapy, Hakomi, Mindfulness, Yoga/Yoga Nidra, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and art/dance/narrative/creative techniques.
My practice is informed by the body neutrality and positive psychology movements, trauma and attachment research, and an ecological systems approach to therapy. The systems approach takes into account that we’re all part of a greater environment and society that shape us, including the effects of racism, patriarchy, poverty and other oppressive systems of power. On anything food/body related, I take a body neutral/body kindness approach to care. I never suggest dieting or weight loss as a solution, because they’re not grounded in science (or compassion).
About the Process
Individual sessions
An individual therapy session begins with a holistic assessment. Together, we map out your needs and goals, including what prompted you to seek out therapy & what you hope to gain from it. The modalities we use in therapy range from talking and relationship-building, mindfulness, breathing techniques, visualization & meditation, self-nurturance, emotional regulation skills, & body-centered therapy techniques. In session, we engage in mindful self-study in order to bring perpetual, unconscious habits to the conscious realm.
If you’re interested, we can build an at-home practice to compliment our in-session work.
Sessions can be short-term or long-term, depending on your needs and preferences.
Group Therapy and Workshops
In group therapy and workshops, we progress through a curriculum that covers the therapeutic theme (e.g. food addiction; depression; or public speaking, for example). Participants may choose to discuss personal experiences, although they are not required to.
We build self-exploration and nurturance skills through breath, trauma releasing exercises, and mind-body conjoining exercises. Mindfulness is central to every session, so mindfulness skills are always the first topic covered & the main group of skills we refer back to.
About the Location
At this time, I offer sessions either virtually via Zoom, or in-person near College and Bathurst intersection, in downtown Toronto.
In-person spots are limited. Please contact me to inquire about the availability of in-person sessions at any given time.
About the Populations I Serve
I work with adults and youth aged 18+ with a wide range of presenting concerns. I believe that therapy can be a great fit for almost anyone, but outcomes often depend on the match of the client-therapist relationship. If you think we’d be a good fit, please book a consultation or a session.
